Contemporary interior design complete with ornate lotus motifs, an open-air rooftop restaurant, and outstanding hospitality make the Banyan Tree Bangkok a hotel unlike any other. One of the tallest hotels in the city at more than 60 stories, this urban resort features some of the best views of the city, the legendary River of Kings, and the Chao Phraya River. The rooms and suites in this Bangkok hotel are elegantly decorated to embody the beauty of Thai heritage.

Banyan Tree Bangkok is located right in the city’s central business district with easy access to all the main shopping centers. Opulent temples, ornate shrines, and a lively street life—Bangkok, the “Land of a Thousand Smiles,” is truly a vibrant global city. Whether you want to escape the fast-paced city life at the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa or host a meeting in one of the hotel’s spacious event spaces, Banyan Tree can make your stay in Thailand unforgettable.

Banyan Tree Bangkok opened in 2002 as the Banyan Tree’s first urban hotel. Some of the hotel’s parking areas were also converted to metropolitan oases, featuring vegetation, aquatic, and avian life to create a natural haven in the middle of the city.

Rated High in Sustainability

The Banyan Tree Bangkok is the city’s only 5-star hotel, but on top of that, it’s also rated highly in sustainability with an EarthCheck Silver certification. EarthCheck is the leading and most rigorous benchmarking, certification, and environmental management program in the tourism industry.

Banyan Tree considers all sides of sustainability, from the environment to the success of the community as a whole. Their mission is to build a better society and help communities grow and prosper. Banyan Tree created Stay for Good, a program that promotes sustainability efforts and urges people to get involved through many green initiatives. It’s based on the guiding principle that everyone can do well and do good at the same time.

Giving Back to the Community

The Green Imperative Fund is part of Banyan Tree’s Stay For Good program. Started in 2001, this fund collects donations from hotel guests—every dollar earned is then matched by Banyan Tree. Since its inception, the Green Imperative Fund has raised more than $7 million and has contributed $4.1 million to support various social and environmental efforts.

The Banyan Tree Bangkok takes part in several green projects throughout the year. “Greening Communities Together” is a celebration for World Environment Day, when all Banyan Tree hotels worldwide plant two trees per room in June. A symbol of environment conservation and habitat protection, this event also brings the community closer together through service. Banyan Tree Bangkok arranges planting in four sessions throughout the year, including tree plantings in Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai. The hotel also participates in community cleanups to help maintain a cleaner atmosphere.

Dining at Banyan Tree

Dining options at the Banyan Tree Bangkok hotel range from contemporary Thai cuisine at Saffron to royal Thai cuisine aboard the Apsara Dinner Cruise. Apsara was converted from a vintage rice barge. All dishes are freshly prepared onboard as you cruise along the Chao Phraya River and enjoy spectacular views.

Saffron’s modern décor matches its contemporary palate. Whether you order seared Tasmanian salmon with crisp pork in a spicy citrus sauce or a banana blossom salad with grilled prawns served with a coconut dressing and fried banana flowers, you will never be disappointed in Saffron’s innovative flavors.

Then there’s Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar—originally a helicopter pad. There you can enjoy an al fresco grill-and-bar experience atop a roof terrace with panoramic views of the city. The menu includes fresh seafood and premium steaks. Moon Bar is a great place to sit back and relax while enjoying a cocktail like the classic Vertigo Sunset—pineapple, cranberry, and lime juices with a splash of Malibu.
