The new Arbour 3-Seater from HAY is both durable and well-designed, offering an elegant seating option with a simple, clean silhouette that uses sustainable materials and design principles.
Award-winning designers Andreas Engesvik and Daniel Rybakken brought their Scandinavian design influence to Arbour using clear, logical construction and uncluttered design language.
This refined yet understated sofa was designed to qualify for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel within the European market. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel creates sustainable solutions based on a life cycle assessment and an overall goal to reduce the environmental impact from production and consumption of goods.
These are just some of the design details that make this piece of modern sustainable furniture worth sitting on.
1. Sustainable Wood and Upholstery
This sofa features FSC-certified wood for its water-based lacquer frame and EU-Eco Labeled upholsteries for the Eco version. It’s available in different upholstery options. Individual components can also easily be replaced and recycled.
2. Premium Comfort
This design includes carefully balanced proportions, as the armrest cushions and back cushions are identical in size and shape, inviting you to kick back comfortably in almost any position. Removable cushion covers allow for easy cleaning. The inner cushions are made using 50% duck feather and 50% foam granulate.
3. Strong Profile and Style
The frame creates a strong yet elegant profile with an architectural quality. The Arbour 3-Seater is available in a variety of textiles, frame colors, and finishes, including a large selection of standard fabrics and leathers. Choose from oiled waxed oak or walnut, black water-based lacquered beech, wine red water-based lacquered beech, or bottle green water-based lacquered beech.
