Chryso, a global leader in sustainable construction solutions and part of Saint-Gobain Construction Chemicals, is proud to announce the expansion of its Canadian concrete innovations and operations.
As the Canadian construction market faces critical challenges, including labor and material shortages, rising demand for sustainable building practices, and the push for locally sourced materials, Chryso is stepping up with advanced solutions tailored to meet the industry’s evolving needs.
Chryso’s investment in Canada enhances access to its sustainable solutions and expertise. The comprehensive technical support, application labs, and manufacturing and distribution facilities in Canada, ensures that Canadian customers receive localized knowledge and the latest innovations.
“Sustainable construction materials are no longer optional,” says Chryso North America President Steve Williams. “The Canada Green Building Council predicts that green construction will make up 25% of the market by 2025. Construction firms have already been embracing the shift to sustainable practices, adopting green materials, energy-efficient systems, and waste-reduction strategies.”
Chryso is at the forefront of sustainable construction in Canada with its innovative portfolio of cement additives, concrete admixtures, and synthetic fibers. These solutions were on display at the Canadian Concrete Expo 2025 in mid-February in Toronto:
● EnviroAdd – A new portfolio of customized cement activators that enhance the performance of blended cements, including Type IL Portland Limestone Cement.
● Chryso Convert C – Transforms leftover plastic concrete into a reusable, hardened granular material through a rapid, mixer-based process.
● Quad Solution – Designed to enable circular economy practices, Quad optimizes the use of challenging aggregates and enhances concrete performance, reducing environmental impact and production costs.
● EnviroMix Range – A tailored suite of admixtures and services that lower concrete’s carbon footprint while maintaining superior performance.
● Strux Fibers – High-performance macro synthetic fibers that replace welded wire mesh, enhancing crack control, durability, and labor efficiency in concrete applications.
● Chryso Optima – High-range water-reducing admixtures that extend the workability and concrete performance over long delivery distances from the plant to the job site.
Bringing Expertise Closer to Canadian Customers
To further strengthen its commitment to the Canadian market, Chryso has concrete application labs—in Montreal and Calgary. These regional labs provide localized expertise, allowing Chryso’s technical teams to troubleshoot customer materials quickly and efficiently, as well as develop customized solutions that optimize material performance, while lowering costs.
“Our Canadian labs bring our industry-leading expertise directly to our valued customers,” says Okan Duyar, district manager in Ontario for Chryso Canada. “We remain committed to being in close business proximity to our customers to provide timely and precise support, both in our labs, as well as in the field. Our priority is to provide our customers with the insights and solutions they need to achieve superior results.”
Chryso’s Canadian infrastructure also includes two manufacturing sites in Vancouver and Montreal, with a third facility set to open in the Toronto area. This expansion enhances Chryso’s ability to respond to the diverse needs of the Canadian market and bring the most advanced technologies and products closer to customers.
Making It Easier for Customers to Do Business in Canada
Chryso has also launched its website dedicated exclusively to serving customers in Canada.
