Excel Dryer’s XLERATOR, Brooklyn Bowl

You’ve seen Excel Dryers. Products like their XLERATOR® Hand Dryer have virtually wiped those messy paper towels in public restrooms off the map all over America. The XLERATOR first made waves by completely drying hands in eight seconds, even while using 80% less energy than conventional hand dryers. Making the switch to Excel Dryer accounts for a 95% cost savings over paper towels, while also improving hygiene all around, and, of course, reducing waste. Committing to sustainability is important to Excel Dryer, too, as the company recently made unprecedented strides toward green manufacturing and product longevity.

Staying healthy and keeping the planet healthy go hand in hand. That’s why it was only natural for Excel Dryer to mark a paradigm shift for the hand dryer market. They recently became the first of their kind to publish independently verified Health Product Declarations. Three of their models—the original XLERATOR® Hand Dryer, the XLERATOReco® Hand Dryer, and the ThinAir® Hand Dryer—were thoroughly reviewed by independent organizations and deemed fitting of the standards set by the Health Product Declaration Collaborative (HPDC). The HPDC has focused on reliably disclosing product ingredients and their associated hazards since 2010.

Excel Dryer has always been committed to transparency when it comes to the environmental and health impacts of their products. Even before publishing HPDs, their hand dryers were vetted by experts. The industry’s first Environmental Product Declarations were presented to Excel Dryer, backing up their long-standing claims of environmental consciousness. “We work hard to source the best materials from quality vendors that are as local as possible, so we are happy to share what goes into our products,” says Excel Dryer President Denis Gagnon. “Our primary goal has always been to influence the entire industry to pursue greater transparency in matters of sustainability and health.”

Other hand dryers on the market typically offer warranties that expire in one to five years. But the manufacturers of Excel Dryer wondered: If a product isn’t going to last as long as you need it to, do its sustainable materials hold as much value? This question led them to think about how they could change common industry practices in an even fresher way. Without spiking prices, Excel Dryer came up with an improved product with 50% longer life and a new seven-year warranty. It covers all XLERATOR® and XLERATOReco® Hand Dryers as of December 1, 2019.

The new warranty is also evidence of Excel Dryer’s goals of transparency with buyers, especially in terms of what exactly they’ll get from their products, and for how long. The updated warranty applies to all of the parts inside the dryers, but most importantly, the motors. Vice President of Marketing and Sales William Gagnon says, “Though some manufacturers offer longer warranties, a review of the fine print shows that motors are typically only covered for three years and sensors are only covered for one. Both of these parts are crucial to hand dryer functionality and are covered for a full seven years by Excel Dryer.”

With these changes, there’s even more incentive to use Excel Dryers. Their products have always had long term benefits for the earth, and now, they’re bringing the same benefits to your wallet.
