gb&d and AIA Atlanta are pleased to announce the opening of the first annual Green Awards celebrating excellence in sustainable architecture. These awards will follow the AIA National Convention each year and recognize sustainable building in each city the conference visits. This year the spotlight is on Atlanta, Georgia. The goal of this program is to recognize and award architecture firms who are leading the charge of incorporating sustainable building practices in their work, and in turn, helping to bring gb&d’s mission to life: to create a more sustainable world.

We are looking for the best and most sustainable Atlanta-based building projects completed after January 1, 2013. We invite architecture firms all over the nation to submit. Our judges will be looking for originality in design, function, and sustainability.

This year’s jury is Amanda Koellner, Managing Editor of gb&d, Randall Buescher, AIA, Vice President, Director of Architecture of Epstein, Devon Patterson, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Principal at Solomon Cordwell Buenz, and Wayne Sherod, LEED AP, Quality Control Manager/Project Manager of James McHugh Construction Co.

The winning projects will be featured in Green Building & Design’s May/June 2015 issue – The Architecture Issue, distributed at the AIA National Convention May 14-16 in Atlanta. The winners will also be recognized and celebrated at an intimate awards reception in Atlanta in conjunction with the convention.

Submissions are now closed. Click here to view the winners of the 2015 Green Awards.
